Kamerawerkstätten - VEB Pentacon Dresden
Es ist sehr schwer, für die hier versammelten Kameras den Namen einer Produktionsstätte zu finden. Die Praktica FX wurde im VEB Kamerawerk Niedersedlitz produziert, das 1959 im VEB Kamera- und Kinowerke Dresden aufging. Dieses wiederum wurde 1964 zum VEB Pentacon Dresden, Kamera- und Kinowerke umbenannt und bildete dann 1968 schließlich den Kern des Kombinat VEB Pentacon Dresden. Der VEB Kamerawerk Niedersedlitz war hervorgegangen aus der 1915 gegründeten Kamerawerkstatt Paul Guthe Dresden (1919 Kamerawerkstätten Guthe & Thorsch GmbH, 1938 Kamerawerkstätten Charles A. Noble).Es ist leicht zu sehen, wie weit die Traditionen im Kamerabau gerade in dieser Firma zurückreichen. Und ein Ruhm bleibt der Dresdener Kameraindustrie: Hier wurden noch begehrte Kameras entwickelt und gebaut, als man im westlichen Teil Deutschlands längst der übermächtigen japanischen Konkurrenz Platz gemacht hatte.
